A Third Eye Perspective

Tree hugger!

I love trees. They help us breathe, they help us ground, they help us heal. In my first few months of discovering energy in Sedona, I would walk up to trees on my hikes, close my eyes and put my hands on them. I found that different trees helped with different chakras. There was a group of them on a hike up to Brins Mesa. The first one I touched, I could feel my heart chakra moving. The next one, I felt the crown chakra going. On another, I felt my solar plexus expanding. The rational side of me was pretty incredulous. The Soul side of me was giddy.

Later, on Oak Creek near Cathedral Rock, I was drawn to a particular tree in the woods. I went up to it, put my forehead against the trunk and closed my eyes. It wasn't long before I saw a bright, white light in my mind's eye. It was the tree's Spirit. I spent a few minutes hugging that tree and giving it gratitude.

That's only happened one other time thus far. I was in Sequoia National Park in California - which was heaven for me. It's an understatement to say that the massive Sequoias are impressive. It's also the first place I've been to where I felt completely balanced. I felt very grounded, but could feel that my 6th and 7th chakras were also going strong. Once again, I was drawn to a particular tree. I put my forehead against the trunk and closed my eyes. It wasn't long before I saw a purple light in my mind's eye and I knew it was this tree's Spirit. I'm sure this may sound crazy to some of you, but I know what I 'saw' and I know what I felt. I wish that everyone would have this amazing opportunity and I suggest that you try to connect with these beautiful beings who are so much more than wood, branches and leaves. How? Try mediating under a tree you're drawn to or putting your hands onto the tree and sending it gratitude. You can simply sit with your back against the trunk and BE in the moment. Do what you feel most guided to do.

One of my new mottos is: Become a tree hugger. Hugging trees is happiness for the Soul.
