California is full of flowers, all kinds of gorgeous plants and blooms. At first glance they look pretty, but if you get close-up that’s where the real magic is. They have such beautiful, intricate patterns. There is so much more to them than what you might see unless you take a closer look. I saw some lovely purple flowers, but when I looked closer I was captivated by their beauty. How often do we go through life just seeing things from our peripheral vision? What beauty would we find if we took a minute to get closer and really take a look? This is such a lovely way to draw us into the present moment. Sometimes you can find some really neat syncronicities. I thought it was so cool that the flower the butterfly is on top of has patterns of butterflies in it. Do stop and smell the roses, but also stop and take a closer look, you never know what you’ll find! I snapped this photo in Australia and didn’t realize what was inside until later that day when I zoomed in on the photo: My challenge to you is to stop and really take a look at three different things today. Notice the texture, color and patterns that you see. Take a moment to really enjoy the beauty that surrounds us – that of a flower, a painting, a ladybug or the fabric of the shirt you’re wearing. Here’s to really taking a look and appreciating the beauty that surrounds us that we otherwise may not notice. - Adrienne :)

Adrienne, thank you for sharing your beautiful pictures and reflections, I thoroughly enjoyed them! We need those subtle nudges to remind us of the simple abundances in life and see their true beauty. I especially love the pic of the flower with the grasshopper camouflaged within and what appears to be her safe haven... spectacular shot!

Thank you Silvia :) I think it's so easy for us to get caught up in our daily 'stuff' that we really miss out on all of the beauty that surrounds us on multiple levels. As you know, Nature is always delivering wonderful messages. Hugs - Adrienne :)
