I saw an ad recently that said create products that solve people’s problems. This ad bothered me on multiple levels and really got me thinking. I know what they’re trying to say, but I don’t appreciate how it’s worded as it’s misleading. Have any of you ever come across a product or modality that completely solved your problems? I’ve always found that it takes a combination of modalities, tools and factors to resolve issues.
This day and age, it seems to come down to (A) how we’d like reality to be vs. (B) reality: A. Solve my problems for me. B. Wouldn’t it be nice if someone could wave a magic wand and say you’re healed! Your money issues are over! I have tried many, many modalities and have yet to find that – probably because it doesn’t exist. Whether you like it or not, YOU have to do the work. There are many tools, modalities and people who can assist you and support you along the way, but you’re the one who is ultimately responsible to take the steps and work through your problems. Problems, issues, etc. are there to teach us. It’s best to learn from them before they have to become major in order to get our attention. A. Fix me now! B. In this world of instant gratification, people also expect others to fix their problems right this minute. Work for it? May take some time? Who has the time or desire for that? This is the mentality a lot of people tend to carry. At best, they will find temporary band-aids for their issues. Most often, our problems come with a lot of baggage from way back. If you’ve carried a subconscious belief for 30+ years, is it realistic to expect it to change Voila! Just like that!? Even when I assist someone in clearing a subconscious belief, they still have to put in the work of cementing the new belief for a good 3 weeks or so after the session. I hate to burst anyone’s bubbles, but there is no cure-all. It’s scary how people advertise as such. BEWARE. As wonderful as it would be to have everything resolved for us 1-2-3, we have our problems for a reason. Though, I am all for resolving them as soon as possible in as gentle a way as possible. If you do find a modality or tool that you’re interested in, take what resonates. My favorite books are the ones that preface with: take what feels right to you, question, do not take everything I say at face value. While "products that solve people’s problems" probably sells much better than "products that assist people in solving their problems," the second option is more truthful and realistic. You’ll save yourself a lot of time, money and energy when you look for something that will assist you in stepping into your own power rather than the magic cure-all. That’s just my take. I’d love to hear what you think about it. Feel free to comment below or email me. – Adrienne :)
