The days are getting longer, the sun is getting hotter and a week ago I started to see one of my favorite parts of summer - lightening bugs. They are also known as fireflies. I love looking out over the farm fields and watching them light up all over. It's so peaceful and sacred. I decided to do a little digging into these lampyridae. They are actually a winged beetle. They use their light signals (bioluminescence) to attract mates and prey. When you see them light up a field, it is not random blinking. Nature is so amazing at so many levels. Take some time to look for the lightening bugs and enjoy the stars in the night sky. Happy Summer. Love, Adrienne :)

Art from the Soul:
These stunning wire sculptures are from U.K. based artist Richard Stainthorp. He's been creating sculptures using wire since 1996. He looks to project feelings and emotions from his pieces rather than details. He's been quoted, "Almost everything we find exciting in the world, whether it be intellectual or adventure based, usually revolves around how we perceive our own being within a space, and the interactions we involve ourselves with. For each person the center of the universe is yourself, your being, and your body. Everything else is just your reaction to external stimuli. For me there is nothing else that could possibly be more important to sculpt. I did make a goat though." To see more of his amazing work, click the button below.
