Happy Independence Day! May you have a wonderful weekend with family and friends, BBQs and fireworks :)
As I've been dealing with some health issues, I've been learning some very important lessons I'd like to share:
Our emotions, our environment, our subconscious beliefs and our conscious thoughts play a massive role in the state of our well-being. Our bodies are constantly sending us messages that we generally tend to ignore. I once heard, we know our cars better than we know our own bodies. It's so true. When our car sounds rough or isn't braking or running properly, we are attuned to that and we get it into the mechanic. Yet, our body sends us so many signals that we tend to ignore. Our body is our vehicle in this life, it's also our best friend. Treat it with love and compassion and listen to the messages it's trying to share with you.
- The human body is a walking miracle. It is so complex and fascinating.
- Our body knows how to be in a perfect state of health - we and our environment are the ones inhibiting that.
- Being angry with our body does not help. When we are sick or dealing with an ailment or dis-ease, that's the time to be really loving with our body. The pain and symptoms we feel is our body's way of trying to get our attention telling us that we have some work to do.
- Our thoughts, beliefs, emotions and environment affect our genes (this is HUGE) - See Super Genes for more info on that.
- We live in a culture that focuses on disease (quantity of pharma commercials on t.v.); we need to focus on good health - remember, where our energy goes - we create.
